Spain’s tourism jumps in August but remains below pre-pandemic levels.

According to Isna, citing Reuters, official statistics showed that the number of foreign tourists who traveled to Spain in August increased by 70 percent compared to the same month last year and reached 8.82 million people, but far less than 10.12 million. Tourist left in August 2019.

Foreign tourists spent 11.26 billion euros ($11.1 billion) in Spain in August, compared with 5.91 billion euros in the same month last year and slightly less than 11.7 billion euros in August, the figures show. It is 2019.

Indonesia also recorded its highest number of foreign visitors since the start of the pandemic in August, reflecting the easing of restrictions and increased appetite for travel.

Margo Yoono, head of Indonesia’s statistics office, said that in August, about 510,200 people entered Indonesia, which is an increase compared to 1,800 people in the same month a year ago. This figure was slightly higher than the figure of the previous month.

Indonesia had 1.73 million visitors for the January-August period, compared with 81,292 in the same period in 2021 when extensive travel restrictions were in place.

However, these figures are still significantly lower than the same pre-pandemic periods in 2018 and 2019 when Indonesia had about 8 million foreign visitors.
