The field program of archaeological speculation in order to determine the area and propose the enclosure of the old Mirabad Imamqoli fortress was finished.
According to the report of the electronic publication of jahane-gardesh, quoted from the public relations of the Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism, Shahram Zare, the head of the archeology board, announced this news on Saturday and said: The old enclosure of Mirabad Castle is located in the east of Mirabad Imamqoli village in Regan city and Nasirieh district, Gonbaki district.


Stating that the old site of Mirabad Castle is a settlement related to the Sassanid and Islamic periods and has an area of ​​about 12 hectares, he added: This site includes several mounds, the highest of which is about 3 to 3.5 meters above the surface of the adjacent lands.
Pointing to the existence of several architectural collections from the Sassanid period in this area, among its prominent remains is a four-arched building or fire temple, which is important for the study of the evolution of the religious architecture of the Sassanid period, this archaeologist stated: This building includes a central square space and a peripheral corridor. and there are many architectural spaces around it.
Zare said: Also, there is a large building in the complex, which may have been a castle or a caravanserai, and its use is still unknown.
According to the head of the archeology board, there are also two pillared architectural complexes in this area, the materials of all the buildings are made of clay and clay, and they are often buried under the soil and wind after being abandoned.
He added: In 2017, the registration file of this area was prepared, which was finally registered in the list of national monuments in 2019 with the number 33062, thanks to the efforts of the registration experts of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage of Kerman Province and the Historical Monuments Registration Office in Tehran.
Zare stated that this area, despite its great importance, was unfortunately severely damaged and important parts of it were destroyed due to the passing of the Regan-Fahraj asphalt road in the early 1370s. Iran’s activities have caused irreparable damage to parts of this national heritage.
He called this damage irreparable and said: It was probably due to ignorance, but it is expected that the Ministry of Roads and the National Gas Company will participate to compensate for the damage and appropriately in the framework of rescue and archaeological studies and protective measures related to the research and preservation of this national work. do
Zare stated: In the aforementioned program, in order to eliminate the risk and provide legal support, as well as to follow up on some research questions, determining the area and proposing privacy was on the agenda, and by creating 19 test holes, the area of ​​the area was determined, which, of course, should be done after compiling the report. And the relevant maps go through a process to carry out the necessary evaluations by the heritage authorities.
He added: This historical collection is one of the unknown cultural resources that has been recognized and introduced in recent years with the activity of archaeologists, and fortunately, the people of the region, council and village of Mirabad want to protect it as a heritage for the present and the future.
The head of the archeology board said: the officials and authorities of the region are also interested in cultural heritage issues, and at the same time, there is still no deep awareness about the need to pay attention to the values ​​of cultural heritage and use it to overcome the problems of the region.
He stated that it should be noted that many problems have arisen in dry areas such as Regan due to environmental crises, and the development of these areas in the future is not possible without the recognition and management of new cultural resources. And the livelihood based on traditional agriculture is followed by it, and measures should be taken for the future.
This archaeologist added: the cities on the edge of the desert are unfortunately abandoned in every way, and despite the cultural richness and the existence of numerous historical monuments, no significant action has been taken in these areas regarding the management of cultural resources.
In the end, Zare said: This program was carried out with the permission of the Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism with the assistance of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Kerman Province, the Heritage Agency in Reagan City, Reagan Governorate, Ganbaki District and Dehiari of Mirabad Imamagholi village.
