The head of the National Archaeological Museum of Greece said in a meeting with the cultural advisor of our country in this country: We are interested in introducing the cultural and historical works of Iran at the temporary exhibitions of the National Archaeological Museum of Greece, to display the ancient Iranian culture and civilization.

According to the public relations report of the Organization of Islamic Culture and Communications, Mehdi Nikkhah Qomi, the cultural adviser of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Greece, while visiting the National Archaeological Museum of Greece, met with Mrs. Anna Vasiliki Karapanayotou, the head of this collection, and visited different parts of the National Archaeological Museum of Greece.

In his speech, the head of the Archaeological Museum of Greece mentioned Iran as a country with ancient culture and civilization and said: Iran has many things in the field of culture and art that we are interested in. In line with our extensive activities, we have been able to hold temporary exhibitions for several months with various museums from other parts of the world, the last of which was the Melbourne Museum.

Mrs. Karapanayotou added: Due to its international activities, this museum has been able to achieve enough expertise to hold temporary exhibitions that are held in a special way and for specific historical periods.

The existence of more than 120 thousand historical pieces of ancient Greek art

He added: We are interested in displaying cultural and historical works from Iran at the temporary exhibitions of the National Archaeological Museum of Greece. In fact, our goal is to be able to display the works of other nations along with Greek ancient works. With this important event, a communication and cultural bridge is formed between nations.

The head of the Greek Archaeological Museum continued: The Greek Archaeological Museum was established in 1880 and is one of the oldest museums in Greece and even Europe. This museum has about 8000 square meters of permanent exhibition. We have more than 120,000 historical pieces of ancient Greek art, the oldest of which dates back to 7000 BC and the most recent to 600 AD.

At the same time, he stated: Many masterpieces of ancient Greek art can be found in this collection. In this museum, we also have works from Iran that reached Greece in different ways in the historical interactions of the two countries and are now on display in this museum.
