(in French:) Comité du patrimoine mondial
It is the name of a committee of the UNESCO World Organization whose members hold a public meeting in various countries and cities every year to review and register the works introduced in the World Heritage List.
This committee is a combination of representatives of 21 governments that are members of the Convention for the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage and elected members of the General Assembly for a maximum period of four years.
This committee is the only institution that has the power to register in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
In order to qualify the candidates for registration in the World Heritage List, three international non-governmental or intergovernmental organizations are consulted by this committee [2] so that the eligibility of the considered option to be registered in the list will be clarified with the review of experts. These three organizations are:
• ICOMOS: an organization for the preservation and protection of cultural heritage sites around the world.
• International Union for Conservation of Nature: an international organization with the aim of protecting the earth’s natural resources
• International Research Center for the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property: an intergovernmental organization with the aim of preserving and restoring cultural heritage in the world / Wikipedia
